Notes About The Poem

(Entry for the Summer Funny Limerick Contest, sponsored by Tania Kitchin, submitted June 29, 2025)

My Northern Summer

Summers up north are reasonably cool.
Hot, sweltering temps are just not the rule!
So if the heat turns you off,
come up here and have a quaff
of cold beer beside my new swimming pool!

Turn northeast at New York until you reach the far east of Canada. Summers are generally short and cool in Newfoundland (although it’s 90 Fahrenheit today!). Thanks, Linda. Take care and keep cool.

Yess! A former New Hampshireite here! Although summers were hot and humid, they only lasted a week or two lol! Congratulations on your win!
