My Neighbor

My Neighbor
By Valerie Odom

My neighbor got a problem with me
Cus’ my self confidence is “too high”
How he can’t stand this generation
But what he doesn’t know is that we are they made
and that being said we will always have to pick up their mess

My neighbor got a problem with me
Cus’ my style is too fly
How he stuck in the 40’s
But what he doesn’t know is that what’s yours is mine
and that our fashion itself is one

My neighbor got a problem with me
Cus’ I got dreams building up towards the sky
How my dreams are too big that he’s starting to become claustrophobic
But what he doesn’t know is that up in the sky way high there's more
air than the two of us can handle if only he’d let his pride to the side

My neighbor got a problem with me
Cus’ I actually wanna change the world
How just because you let white supremacy get to your head
Doesn’t mean I can’t lend you a hand and get you out of the deep water
But what he doesn’t know is that one by one we shall build, unify,
and become one with peace itself

My neighbor got a problem with me
But I don’t gotta problem with him

Need to think positive Valerie, the world is full of negatives everywhere you turn. When the facts are twisted, the outlook is twisted also. It can really mess up your mind. God Bless

Natalya: That kind of talk will empty a lot of counselors couches. Thanks for sharing those thoughtful words with all of us on the soup. Keep them coming. oldbuck

Valerie: Folks fear what they don't know. Continue to help your neighbor get to know "you". Be patient with we older folk. Our ways were cast in much different times. Keep sharing with all of us on the soup. You may help many of us overcome our "problems". oldbuck
