My Mother, My Hero
She may be someone so many people know,
but my mother will always be my favorite hero.
She is tough and strong in ways I can’t explain,
and in moments of sadness, her joy shall remain.
On my heart she leaves a tender loving stain.
What is a hero in everybody’s longing eyes?
It’s someone who in extreme difficulty still tries.
She’s a rock for the family when in distress,
I’m proud to be her daughter, I must confess.
She calms me down when I’m an emotional mess.
When I’m sick she makes me chicken soup to heal,
if only she knew how loved she makes me feel.
Her adoring faith shows in her daily life,
and for my dad is the most heartwarming wife.
She saves my soul when in stuck in anguished strife.
She’s kind and forgiving full of fortitude and trust,
and being there for others has always been a must.
She raised me to be the woman I am today,
and inspires my writing in every single way.
There are so many other compliments I could say.
She’s the sweetest grandma to my beautiful daughter,
because courage and love she has always taught her.
At the soup kitchen she helps the starving people eat,
giving food and water that they don’t get on the street.
To little homeless Joey she always gives a special treat.
She asks for nothing but gives more of herself,
even though she’s not in the perfect health.
I know no one who is like her to many others,
the foundation of strength to my sister and brother.
No there will never be another hero like my mother.
