My Message To Trump

You say a word and set the world aflame No thought to what the nations think or feel The turmoil that we're in is not a game I wish that you'd think twice before you deal You are the leader of the USA the super power here, the number one! Yet you won't try to filter what you say If you don't tone it down, your term is done! Your daily twitter rants are full of rage The nations quake and shake at what they read that "sh$thole countries" comment, was that sage? You shame your rank in word and yes, in deed From day to day you change your tune and line The walls you build are not the border kind Supremacists act out; you give the sign You've built divisive walls; to this you're blind! I fear for what the future has in store As missiles are at ready, hearts grow weak You need to change your ways, do so much more embrace the wisdom from outside your clique Is there still time to turn our fate around? Why don’t you make amends and speak of peace? For black and yellow, red and white abound Acknowledge all and let the tensions cease Remember labels don’t define a soul We are all equal, God has made it so So stop the hate and make your nation whole The world is watching, show that you can grow. Beautiful sentiments expressed, Eileen. But, I ain't holding my breath. He's been a small man his whole life. That's the nicest thing I ever said about him. Good vibe positivity this poem be though. Love and peace always.

I like that last stanza: Nothing sugar-coated, just hard reality---but with an appeal to the man's better side. I believe that he has one, but it doesn't assert itself nearly enough. It's overpowered by his impetuosity and a monstrous temper, not to mention an oversized ego....Thanks for appealing to that better side. Unfortunately, Mr. Trump is the only President we've got. Best wishes! -- Gershon

This is meaningful and with sense, Eileen. Antagonism and disrespect are signs of weakness. Real statesmen don't act like squabbling children. Time for him to grow up...but I suppose it's too late in the day! Hugs // paul

Yes, often those who are loudest and "toughest" are the ones hiding inferiority complexes. Something to think about. Thanks for the visit, my dear.

Thanks, dear. While no one is perfect...we somehow expect more from world leaders. Lately I've been so immersed in the life of Martin Luther King...what a great man he was. Thanks for the visit.

Brilliant Eileen, you'll get no criticism from me, I say any man can become a leader, but can a leader become a man, this guy as no clues, no etiquette, born with a silver spoon in his mouth and then reared to bypass the world that most of us, have to survive in...that is my opinion, and yours in a wonderful poem and mission statement

Thanks for the visit, Harry. Yes, he has had a privileged life. Unfortunately, that shows in how he treats the marginalized people. It's sad. I know there isn't much that can be done about it, but....I needed to voice my opinion. Hugs.

Trump, in a nutshell, his brain at least! A well-written commentary on an egotistical maniac. Best wishes for 2018... Mick

Thank you for your visit. It is much appreciated. I don't mean to offend, but I wish that he would be more careful in the language he uses...among other things.

Excellent poetic commentary on this troubling President that we have, Eileen! I wish he would heed sound advice and make our nation truly compassionate and great again...as he seems to want, but they way he does it is all wrong! Great poem!!

He even antagonizes US allies with the comments he makes. World leaders are uncertain how to deal with him. Being a good businessman doesn't translate into being a good president.

Well, my little Desert Orchid, you’ve given him sage advice and released you’re feelings on his actions and words but I can’t see him moving from his path of destruction. Very well written and heartfelt. Take care,Richard

Thank you, Mr Richard D Seal. Your visits are always welcome and relished...especially since they are so rare of late. Thank you for your comments. It is worrisome because what happens in the US impacts the whole world. Therein lies the rub. We follow the news closely....

Hi Eileen, You have stated very well how most of us feel. How he managed to get in office still mind boggles me. The things that come out his mouth is just plain ludicrous. I could go on and on about how I feel about him but I won't. Bravo to you for writing such a write:-) Alexis

He reacts so differently to events...I don't want to go into details, but...there is no consistency there. I won't write more, but I needed to get that poem off my chest. Everywhere you go....all you hear is what the latest comment has been and what the ramifications are. Worrisome, to say the least. Thanks for the visit. Hugs

oh, eileen, you have said this so well! as am american, i am mortified that he is the person who represents the country and still have trouble accepting that he was elected. i do so hope that somebody will come to the forefront to challenge him soon. he is a bully and a total embarrassment. your poem said it brilliantly...

He is a bully, and some of his comments are downright vulgar. It's not becoming of a man in his rank. Thank you for your visit. Wishing you every blessing.

Thank you, Liam. He has so much power to do good, if he so wishes. He is after all, the leader of a super power. One would think that he would pay more attention to what he posts and says. I appreciate the visit.

I won't be holding out hope that the self proclaimed genius and least prejudice man in the world will change. There is no telling who he will offend next. For me I am amazed that of all the brilliant Americans the choice for President came to Hillary and Donald.

It's not just the issue of offending, Richard. As a world leader, his stances and words have repercussions that are felt all the way over here. Aggressive rhetoric can start World War III and with the nuclear missiles...Well. The UN has condemned his latest comments about sh$thold countries and has name it racism.

BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO Brilliantly penned Eileen !!! of course not everyone here will agree with your views but BRAVO to you for speaking your mind so poetically!:-) hugs Jan xx

I know, dear. I know I will get criticized by some, but I needed to share. I started this poem a month ago and couldn't quite finish it till today. His latest comments...the obvious racism..really got to me. It's so sad.
