My Love Potion

Why did you come to see me? Asked the witch, In a nasal tone! Are you yourself not made of magic? I looked at her in silence, Wondering if she could feel the pain Dancing all over me Running through my bloodstream Pulsating in my heart beats Laughing at my own gullibility! I am made of magic Said I But my magic is meant not To be used to seduce! Go away, she seethed I have no time to waste Over cursed beings like you! I have spells to cast And lives to wreck Go away! I slipped out of her den Allowed myself to bask in the sunshine Letting the summer breeze play with my hair While swallowing my gulps And smiling at friends As I walked along the way! I reached my home, A mere little cave Hidden near a humongous waterfall And I stealthily got in Making sure that no one saw me As I want it never to have Humans aware of where I dwell! I put my stove over the fireplace And made some tea for myself What would be the ingredients of a love potion? Asked I to the numbing silence! Love's mind is veiled by the forces of life's illusions He fell, out of good intentions surely But he under estimated the evil powers Lurking in this world! Why, time runs fast The clock is ticking And Fate watches on grimly! If we fail it now, in this one life, We shall have to call it quits Forever! I decided to take a knife and to chop off my ego I then took a jug of dew droplets And I watered my purity I then took some flowers And rubbed their fragrance all over my body I added some insight to my soul And filled my heart with compassion, Understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, Tolerance, warmth, sincerity, humility And devotion! To top on to all of this I chose to fill my stomach With the fruits of moral principles And with emotional outbursts! I packed all of these in myself And whispered magic words, kept secret By those witches of good actions Meant to be used solely for positive purposes! Then, I walked out of my den Towards there where Love was And touched his heart with my little finger! I saw his eyes shedding off his broods And felt myself melting! I saw his swords being thrown off And felt myself flooding! I responded to his outstretched arms And shared With him A kiss, So passionate That its shine Reflected there where the Gods reside, And they, Could only lower their eyes And smile In approval! Why, my love potion Worked, In the very end! For Contest Love Potion Written on 11th Oct 2019 Sponsored by: Julia Ward
