My Love Does Not Listen

How can I love someone so much When he puts such a strain on my heart I just want the very best for every part of him So he can see his worth as much as I do He let's things that ravish him, control his mind Even when I try my best to steer him another direction I wish he understood the break of my heart When he talks to me in a way that is just..not him Because I know its him, somewhere there Deep past the destructive behavior he thinks he needs to act upon My love doesn't know that it's not those things that will help him He isnt aware that those will only destroy him more And he wont let me in... he wont let me help How am I suppose to teach him, if he is not there to listen?

We call them life's lessons, Tyra, because we have to learn them through our own life. There is no teaching better than life-teaching. Unfortunately, it is difficult to sit back and watch. I always tell children "a mistake means you are still learning."

It's hard to watch, but I wish the best and that he'll learn sooner rather than later..
