My Ink Well

'Till the day my ink well runs dry,
I will write what comes from my heart.
There will be one more tear to cry,
of which, my soul, is so much a part.

I will write what comes from my heart.
I found new life, in poetry,
of which my soul, is so much a part.
It brings with it tranquility.

I found new life, in poetry,
I will cling to it for all I'm worth.
It brings with it, tranquility.
My passion has been my rebirth.

I will cling to it for all I'm worth,
as my last spark of memory glows.
My passion has been my rebirth,
I will close my eyes, let it flow.

As my last spark of memory glows,
there will be one more tear to cry.
I will close my eyes, let it flow,
'till the day my ink well runs dry.

"my passion has been my rebirth" I like this implication being reborn with the release of our soul and the little deaths inside and "flowing" with ink from our inkwell. I agree with the other comment, My pantoums sound trite. To put in to such a rigid structure so much meaning and feeling is talented.

Paula, this is a brilliantly written Pantoum. They are much more difficult to write than one might imagine. I have never finished one without it sounding trite and ending up in the trash. Your line "My passion has been my rebirth" I can so identify with. I want to thank you very much for my 7th placement in your Line contest. There were so many wonderful entries. I am thrilled to have my poem in the top ten. Blessings, Connie

For me too Paula.. my Mom was my Mom,my best friend, my confidant, my great listener and problem solver, my support with my four sons and the loss of my fifth son.. she was a rock.. her memory is never far from me.. originally was going to write something cute and flirty but after a few lines it did not fit.. looked at my Mom's wedding photo and out came the words among many tears... feel your pain my friend... luv this poem tonight too..luv..
