My Heart Aches For You

how my heart aches for you
you who do not see
the dainty charm of words
and their sweet efficacy

how my heart aches for you
you who remain unmoved
by the nuances and hues
of rhymes my heart's approved

how my heart aches for you
you who do not fawn
over works of Langston Hughes
and the likes of great John Donne

How my heart aches for you
you who do not feel
the soothing sentiment
of poems that can heal

How may heart aches for you
it aches, it aches, it aches
for you cannot bear your soul
to poetic gust that shakes

how my heart aches for you
for you will never know
the passion that sears my soul
then bathes me in its glow

Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.”

Hello Eileen. This was written with power and expression. You obviously have skill with that. Honestly. The expression and emphasis are more than fine. Well done

I can't imagine how bland life would be if it weren't coloured with words. Hugs Rick.

I can't either, Richard. It boggles my mind. How can people just....live...without the wonder of words. Hugs

I have come to know that without art and words life has no meaning, it is those things that saturate the soul. My heart aches as well for those who just don't feel the awesomeness of it. Loved your write . hugs x

Eileen, this is so beautiful. Love how you did that shape at the end. I do know these people who can't appreciate the likes of the great John Donne. (I married one)

I'm married to one as well. Although, he does love the beauty of his own language. Thanks for the visit, dear. I did enjoy making that tiny heart at the end. I love collecting heart shaped things. Hugs

Poetry has this affect on many, it is a daily need, a nourishment for the mind and the soul. So beautiful this outlet for creativity and you have described it well.

Phil...I really do not know what I would do without poetry. I love Langsten Hughes and I love Donne...Death Be Not Proud always fills me with awe. A Dream Deferred is also special...I love Poe...I love I love I love....I really feel bad for people who are not moved by poetry. What joy they are missing. Thanks for the lovely visit.
