Oh, God, please check this foolish heart of mine
Deceitful* according to the Scriptures
I trust Your Word while to Your will incline
Striving to please You along faith ventures.

Against pangs of attacking haughtiness.

Smiting folly of false humility

Midst grievous downfall-caused anxiety.

Your holiness, Lord, graciously prevails
Midst grievous downfall-caused anxiety
Pulling me with mercy that never fails.

Correcting foolish heart with truth indeed
Pulling me with mercy that never fails
So that from ignorance I can be freed.

Lead me to the right path without a doubt

For wisdom-praises’ shout, devoid of pout.

Blest to reach-out, sharing blissful hope-gain.

Thankful for answers to prayer request.
