My Foolish Heart
You left me long ago but it seems like yesterday.
I can still hear the music of your parting words but
honest, I’m not waiting your return,
but my heart doesn’t understand.
The words you sweetly uttered, do you remember?
“I love you” are etched deep within my soul,
and my heart wants to hear those words again,
but you’re no longer near me.
The shadows on the pregnant moon are
like your raven hair that used to lay upon my chest,
so don’t think I want you back it’s just my foolish
heart, that keeps on beating.
Perhaps I should make it stop.
