Blessed Rain
As nimbus clouds begin to darken skies
There gleams a sense of wonder in my eyes,
Eyes that sparkle lightning in the sky.
I stand transfixed as thunder rages high
As I feel first soft droplets touch my skin
Elated by the rain storm and its din,
I dance with joy to celebrate the rain
With drought a memory to come again,
And as I taste the power of this storm
In purity of water that takes form,
Saving thirsty animals in our keep,
In sweet merciful gratitude I weep.
After the storm as nimbus clouds take flight
Petrichor's scent enchants me through the night.
