My First Garden
My First Garden
I cheated to start at three feet apart
My Petunias colored the soil so dark
With seeds in between to fill in the scene
A wider array will soon become part
The Morning Glories are breaching each side
Soon, flowers of blue will start to define
Along, in the back, a Snap Dragon fact
Though bumble bees come, the red won’t attract
A new sign of life; alone, on the side
A little sprout grows, till yellow ‘gainst sky
So tall and so proud, to accent this world
Just a simple smile, and my day unfurled
I am older now, and wish I had known
Of this simple life: A caged bird, has flown
