My Favorite Teacher
Bullied all through
I had started to enjoy
My inevitable
Lonesome childhood
With stoic ignorance
Kindergarden
Teacher, Mary was her name
Might have noted my plight
Sat by my side
Told me I was just fine
Captivated
Like a gently stroked puppy
I asked her one fine day
Why trouble followed
Me everywhere
Teacher Mary
Whispered, 'Dear child, Trouble is
Everywhere, mark me, you
Are good as long as
You tell the truth'
That day onward
I stuck to truth, trouble
Stuck to me, bullied all through
Yet, For love of my teacher Mary
I never once lied.
