My Dreams

Every dream that anyone ever has is theirs alone and they never manage to share it. And they never manage to remember it either. Not truly or accurately. Not as it was. Our memories and our vocabularies aren't up to the job. ~Alex Garland My dreams are stories from which I sometimes wake; the characters and fascinating plot fresh inside my mind. Wishing to capture one with words, I trace it, only to have it fall apart. . . for - after all - my stories are just dreams. Hi Andrea and what a delightfu poem on dreams. I'm at that age where I dream every day as if God is filling my boring nights doing the AM - PM. bit. Your poem caused me to relate, CONGRATULATIONS!

This was a lovely write, and exactly how I feel when I try to write my dreams down. It rarely is successful. Hugs. Ann

"my stories are just dreams". You have nailed this one. Last night, I woke and was reciting a peom verse again and again. I can not sleep, but must rush to write it down. Pad, pen...it is all gone. Arg... I love your work. Ann (a small pot with herbs for your kitchen, the cat will be oh so happy for days...)

Congratulations on your second place win in this contest Andrea. I wanted to try and write one for this but I ran out of time. Keeping a dream journal helps because if you wait to write it down later you won't remember even half of it. xxoo

Dreams come and go like the wind. Capturing them in words is a neat trick. Good luck in the contest Peace & Love Matthew Anish

G'day Andrea … we all share that experience I'm sure. We can't live our dreams but we can certainly try to, but if we try to, there's hitches that we didn't see coming - thank you Andrea - Lindsay

Ah!--beautiful. Live within your dreams, Andrea. And may we all share a scene or two, promising never to startle you awake. For, as poets, we all dream our pens into life, not the converse, a shared conspiracy and miracle. Believe!!

I never remember my dreams. Sometimes I wake talking in verse! No kidding. The last few months have been that way, but then the verse connected to my dream is gone. Only dreams I have is when I am on antibiotics. Gory, horrid nightmares.. cannot take them. Luv, Panagiota Great poem

A little early for Christmas tree's isn't it? lol A dream into a story, sometimes sexy, sometimes gory. And when we wake from one and not the other. We try to go back to sleep so we can have another. Get it? Waking up from a nightmare is a good thing. Waking up from the other is a bummer. :)
