My Dream Vacation
if able i would travel to Italy
I would walk the streets
watching lover's stroll
I would sit among the groups
at outside tables drinking wine
and eating fancy cheese in cubes
taking in the smells and taste
of this foreign place
I would catch a ride on a boat
and travel on the crystal waters
while listening to a musician play
My room would not be fancy, just a bed
and bathroom will do
my main focus will be experiencing
Italy from the outside and not behind closed doors
I would love to find some place where they read
poetry and exchange critiques with thanks
I would join in to read even if they don't understand me
My adventure would come to an end
as i enter the plane to fly home
already longing for more time spent
finding myself in Italy
