You are my dream lover…
You know exactly when to cheer me;
when to cup my face in your hands
and kiss my eyelids.
I dream you alive whenever I need you.
You rush to my side and comfort me,
brush the tears away from my cheeks,
pulling me closer to you until I feel your
beating heart and the warmth of your body.
I need that strength to get me through
some of my most difficult days.
You read me poetry you have written
just for me because you see into my soul.
My mood changes as I linger in your embrace
and listen to your romantic words of love.
I feel so cherished and adored.
You may be my dream lover, yet to me
you are as real in my waking hours as in my
restless dreams when you come to visit me.
I will close my eyes tonight…and wait for you.
