My Dog Luca
He's a loyal friend,
Faithful 'til the end.
He listens with patience
To my lively cadence.
By the wag of his tail,
I know joy shall prevail.
My loving, adoring pet,
My greatest of friendships yet.
There's nothing so fine
As this dog of mine.
A gift from above,
He gives of his love.
He's devoted and true,
He asks very little too.
He never complains,
Unless he's in pain.
He's a comic at times
And I laugh 'til I cry.
He is ready to play
Anytime, night or day.
I throw him his toy
And he jumps for joy.
Then seems to say, "Let's go,
Give it another throw."
He's a sly little fox,
Houdini out the box.
I've yet to learn his tricks,
For he's crafty and quick.
But he always comes home,
From wherever he's roamed.
So I say a prayer and Hallelujah,
He's safely home, my beautiful Luca.
