My Destiny

If I would have had a crystal ball and seen what lied ahead I would have made my choices much wiser Then taking the easiest path instead But what I chose was a Destiny, filled with turmoil, abuse and pain Yet had I been the wiser one, my true identity would still remain I keep telling myself to look ahead and leave the past behind Trying to escape the haunting memories, is a task I’m unable to abide Still feeding off the memories of a relationship gone bad Staying trapped inside these emotional walls is all I’ve ever had Moving forward still aware that life has let me down Basking in old memories, submersed and left to drown Awaking from this nightmare; my eyes entirely open and aware Realizing my past was only a small segment Of one of life’s many countless dares
