My Darkest Hour Was My Brightest
I kept my joy
I kept my peace
I kept on smiling day after day
I did this in my darkest hour
I didn’t stumble or fall
I knew the unfailing promises of God
And in my darkest
My darkest hour, I recited them
Sometimes over and over again
I didn’t go to the left or to the right
I sought the One who knew me best, in my darkest hour
On bended knees and in fervent prayer, I cried out for My Savior’s help
Oh, how I prayed and prayed, as I walked the walk of faith
In His strength
In His peace
In His arms of protection I went
And such a sweet comfort He gave to me, in my darkest hour
Wiping away all my tears
Calming all my fears
To Him I owe a debt of gratitude, because I realize my darkest hour wasn’t my darkest, it was my brightest
I kept my joy
I kept my peace
I kept on smiling day after day
No, my darkest hour wasn’t my darkest, it was my brightest
