My Cross

I hate what you’ve done
Reduced me to nothingness
Wrapped me in a shroud of shame
Crushed is my spirit
Forgiveness not an option
Loving you- the cross I bear

Well, John...it sure has its ups and downs, doesn't it, but its good to know that someone is there for you for the long haul and is committed to helping you survive! It has its perks... ;)

Eileen, your work is double purposed. We readers receive not only a lesson in life, but also a lesson in poetic form in which you choose to write.... kudos on both counts.... Love ya dearly...... Jake

Thanks ever so much, Jake. Lovely to hear from you. The praise is good for me, though...I'm sure you don't need any lessons. :) Be blessed.

Eileen; This is a beautiful write, but I hope you don't have to carry a heavy cross. Many blessings to you..... Lucilla

We all have crosses to carry, my dear. Some big...some small...but they are always there. He will help us carry them if we give Him the chance. Hugs.

Thanks for pouring your heart out when you read The Golden Standard. As usual I have responded to your comments. Also I just wanna let you know that I'm going to take a break from the political stuff... I know the people on here are very civil, and many are very good friends of mine. But I don't wanna push anyone's buttons by being "overly bold" with my views on things. There are certain things I just couldn't keep to myself and I had to let those feelings go...

Timothy...I understand. It isn't easy. Standing up for what you believe in never is. I admire you for what you've done so far. You do what you can...I admire you for speaking up, but also for respecting others feelings. You are an all around great guy!

Love knows no bounds. It at times amazes me, our capacity for forgiveness. We may have grudges for a little while, but if you really love the person you'll forgive them without even really noticed it yourself. I've written some sedoka before... nice to see you try your hand at it!

:) Thanks Timothy. I thought I'd written a Tanka till someone had the grace to correct me. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes...love keeps no record of wrongs. Love endures...as it says in the Word. Glad that you enjoyed this.

Love is great sacrifice just like the cross that Jesus bore to sacrifice for the sins of the world. It takes a lot of sacrifice to love. Love is indeed a cross to bear. Eileen this good.

Thanks ever so much for the visit and comment. Yes...love does involve sacrifice. "We pardon to the extent that we love." So true! :)

Should I be worried for you? or are you just like me today and just writing whatever comes in your head. You don't seem in a dark place based on your comments today.

No....well, hmmmmmm. Yes and no. Every poem has a bit of truth to it, though sometimes we take a thought and just run with it and embellish it. So...I'm ok. Just really tired of some situations. Thanks for dropping by.
