My Christmas Soup Gift

No sarcastic smacks
                             lacking tact.
No egos blazing need
                              to attack.
Not even inferences
                            of senseless impact
or any need displayed
                              to overreact.
Lin Lane's blog invitation
                                   is filled with shared
                                           emotional tracks
                                             and reading it wrapped
                                                                 me in joy exact.
Then Tom Woody's blog proved
                                             prayers do answers attract.
                                            The Soup-Love shared there
                                                 left me Godsmacked
and that is a wonderful kind
                                                            of attack.

Dear CayCay, so full of genuine gratitude for the community spirit that PoetrySoup brings. I loved turning what could have been “attacks” into affirmations of kindness, prayer, and shared joy. I feel“ Godsmacked” in the best way, and I land with warmth and humor, leaving with a big smile. Holiday Blessings, Dear CayCay, Daniel

I find the masterful use of rhyme and the utterly unique layout extremely appealing. And you weren't afraid to name names!

Hey, Michael, I embrace your comments. No fear here, I said nothing 'grayish' out loud (humor). Those blogs may be the last I read because they were the best I've read. Merry Christmas, Michael ... CayCay

As you pointed out in your recent poem, we just had Christmas last week & I'm really feeling that so I'm not all over it like I've historically been, but I thank you, kind sir, for your sweet wishes that I am blessed to have and thankful to add to my other blessings especially one called Kyle and another, Tim. Peace, dear one ... CayCay

CayCay, you have always been a positive influence in the soup. Thank you, dear friend, for mentioning my blog in honor of Milton. His memory deserves tribute, but I had hoped more poets who’ve been here for years would’ve joined in. I will be posting lines from those who soup mailed me tomorrow morning.

Time is rushing by much too quickly. Three years since he left us. Thank you for reading some of Milt’s poetry.

When I saw the blog, I was so happy to see you back and apparently feeling good, like yourself full throttle which I hope is true. I don't think I'll ever read another blog as those two were so uplifting and I'd like to stay that way. I thank you for being part of my 'gift'. I do not remember Milton & plan to visit his pages for a possible recall. You know I value you, Lin. I hope you have the happiest merry possible this Christmas. Can't believe a New Year is arriving already, where doesn't the time go? LOVE ... CayCay
