My Choice
My Choice
If I could be a colour
And the choice was up to me
I might choose blue like summer
skies, or deep deep green of sea
I may consider yellow
Like a golden summer sun
Or orange at its setting
When the long hot day is done
Perhaps I’d match a full blown rose
In her gown of scarlet red
Or blend in with the violets
Asleep in the garden bed
The colours in my paintbox
After rain, they make a bow
And now, the last but not the
least, my choice, ‘soft Indigo.’
