A dark angel writes in the air, “There will be no tomorrow for you.” Then puffs of shiny cloud ebb, Ebony night surrounds me. I tremble in fear. I hover between now and never, as if I'm traversing a rough river on one bank: life, on the other: death. I feel an ebbing of nothingness, like gulping down bad breath, or gasping in asphyxia, between a being and non-being, sandwiched between heaven and hell. Which way must I go? Lord make the right choice for me, for I tremble in fear. How oft had I been told, hell is an illusion, don't believe! Now it seems like reality and I fear. I see my past, its rights and wrongs, a sort of blind imbalance, not a hair is lost. Where is the illusion now? Or worse is it delusion and regret, that I could have achieved much more? Thus I tremble in fear. Spirals of fog surround me, whirls of fatal mists envelop me, a long dark tunnel with a faint light ahead. But what lies at the end? An ephemeral awakening or an eternal damnation? What weapons are left for such a fight? I can only give my soul up and pray: O Lord, I trust in Thee. I fear no more.

Happy fear was overcome with faith, dear Victor. Yet how steady will faith hold, will self-doubt return again, contracting heart? What is the very root of fear? If it is fear of damnation due to sin, what is sin really, who judges and who are we, in as after death, what are we? Concepts won’t do, we must explore the truth in meditative silence. That would be my counsel.

Victor! One of the best poems I ever read in four years. It is not written to win! That is great, in itself. But this wriye deseves extraordinary recognition, It is both philosohical and let’s us read into your soulful journey Not all of my poems can even match this one. You raised my level of beauty in poetry! All lines are heartful perfection, this is my favorite of all favorites. Nay, og all poems here. Hugs, Pangie xx

Last three lines are reality, Victor. Thanks for sharing the adventure of terror or regret as life is shown as it was. Have a great week, my friend. Bill

This darkly haunting story is a brilliant creation, probing into fear and faith. The devil never stops trying, not until the very end. The Lord is our comfort and hope. Many blessings.

This is very deep and it delves into the realms of existential fear, as you encounter a foreboding message from a dark angel. The vivid imagery of the dark angel writing in the air and the subsequent transition to an ebony night create a sense of ominous inevitability.

You are sure to find light at the other end . Your delusion is the product of an over worked brain. You will live for another couple of years. Never fear that your end is near ! A powerfully written phantasmagoria, dear Victor. It sends chills down the spine. But be assured, God's mercy will be on you !

You chose the right way and God granted you the gift of His Holy Spirit. Satan still tries to intimidate us with the thoughts of you really have not been given salvation. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with this one with us and for dropping by my page. I am sorry that it was not a poem but only in the I think I can write one about this topic. Sara K. I finished my poem, "Possibilities" if you care to read it again.

Yes. Just trust Jesus. Beautifully done, full of angst - yet such a blessing to the reader, satisfies the lingering fears, gropes for more than just a passing fancy or notion that can't truly explain away the facts that we must, each, face the moment of death. Love this. God bless you, Love, Gina

At times, purifying our feelings may be challenging, but our hope and trust continue to sustain us. Strongly stated, Victor. Your request for an explanation ought to be conducted in private. Hopefully, all is well with you.

Nice poetic description of the uncertainties many face upon impending death. Religion and philosophy play a huge role in those moments. As for me, I discarded the lie that hell is a place of eternal torment forty years ago. Death is sleep. The real hope is life anew in the future resurrection. Awesome poem

What a deeply moving write that would remind also the readers of the end and heaven and hell, and how it can come soon and anytime and to prepared. I love the depth of emotions that flow through out this and how well phrased so many of your lines in this is like “ How oft had I been told, hell is an illusion, don't believe! Now it seems like reality and I fear. I see my past, its rights and wrongs” soul hitting really and can resonate too! Pleasure reading this powerful write! Sending you light

Oh, this is such a moving and soul-stirring poem dear Victor..When we feel that the end is seemingly near, but it doesn't proceed to a finish, rather making us oscillate in an abyss of unfathomable vulnerability, then we can only find solace in the divine embrace of Almighty..Surrendering all our fears, His soothing light caresses us..So beautifully you've described all these emotions here, that really touch the heart..The darkness expressed in your words is poignant..Sending light & best wishes
