My Cat, Lover

Here I sit
composing juices spurting
spewing, gushing, splashing,
dripping every wall!

like Mount Etna awakened
my mind erupting with poetic
genius 

like Roman Candles
on 4th of July

up hops lover, the cat

he tangles my hands

mounts the keyboard
demanding, purring

I say, "lover, have you no
respect for art, for my
exquisite, rarer singular mind producing -- 

he meows

needfully reminds me

"nothing more important than
petting" --

Poetry is your pursuit and passion. While engaged in poetic art, we generally do not like any interventions. But you can easily excuse your cat, popping up from somewhere and jumping onto your keyboard, demanding attention. Cats enjoy being loved and pampered. Enjoyed this slice of life from your day.

One's poetry should all be about love...should come from the heart of love...soaring to the highs of love. Even tragedy, when put to verse, must possess radiating elements of love, sensitive hurt driving deep passions to summits of literary climax.

Thank you, Victor; my carts were strays...animals people got on a whim, a novelty, and then did not take proper care of -- so, pets are a loving responsibility. Blessings my friend.

This is so cute made me smile especially the ending. Hah. I ask my son this, sometimes, youv written a very beautifully flowing poem . And im sure cats appreciate and feel much more than we know, i know few of my friends when their cats leave for days, they always return back home, they sense their family strongly. Pleasure reading your work. Sending you light always!

Hi Si; cat inspired. I do have a cat named Lover -- who the other mourning jumped up on my lap, onto the keyboard, demanding attention at the moment my mind soaring in Poetic Stratosphere -- impulse was to shoo him off. But, of course, I checked myself, realizing that poetry comes from selfless love. He, like all my loves, are the feelings within and behind my writing. Poetry comes from love. Even painful poetry -- we could not be hurt were it not for the vulnerability of loving.

They know our soft spots -- what the heck...is there really anything more important, purer than the expression of love? The expression of love, gives the soul wings, and a never-ending span of light. Blessings my friend.
