My Butterfly

A perfumed breeze with summer lavender Shapeless smoked clouds had come and gone Through verdant valleys I strolled along Honeycombed hues warmed the new dawn A golden butterfly glided in the distance I just stood still and watched his flight From one flower to another His flapped wings fluttered I could not let him out of my sight I wondered 'bout this blissful beauty. Towards the riverbank I watched him roam If I could only fly away with him to destinations always unknown Imagine what places he has been what many glories he has seen A perfect waterfall tumbling into a clear blue pond Wet dewdrops glimmering 'pon the grass as the sleepy sun starts to rise A doe with her fawn taking those fragile first steps bees buzzing by swarming back to their hive I watched in amazement in awe of his grace I floated along as he flittered away We hovered together through a path between twin lakes then and there I kissed him before he silently slipped away That's the last time I saw him cuz now stone towers have been built Nature's been destroyed and the butterflies have been laid to rest

I give you 10 out of 7. Reading this Poem was a sweet lovely journey on the wings of the Butterfly, while touching and feelings the ravishing beauty of Nature, which is at the verge of getting destroyed everywhere on Earth. Alas! if we can only make it slow, so that more Poems and Songs may be written to preserve in the sweet memories of trees and plants, lakes and forests, crops and harvests in constant destruction. Thank you Tim for this beautiful read dear friend. Love & Best wishes....Ravindra K Kapoor

So by Isis, were they beheaded, were not playing with a full deck of pens and their footballs were under-inflated. Amazing what inspires us to write poems right or wrong and no matter what the conditions may be even if it is hard to see. Right? As my dog is trying to fetch a bone I found your poem to be quite fetching. Jim Horn

From "A perfumed breeze" to " now stone towers have been built Nature's been destroyed and the butterflies have been laid to rest"- we need a resurrection of butterflies.

Cupid, your writing is so beautiful, I was with you . . . with every flutter of your butterflies wings, nature is being destroyed all around us but nature sometimes finds a way, I see myself as a butterfly drifting through the tangles of life and thank you so much for visiting my poetry, I truly appreciate it ~~
