My Bilberry Blessing for Thanksgiving
Gather near, ye ones of fruity hearts!
Sing what praise the Bilberry earns!
May ye enjoy them on your Thanksgiving table!
These small berries in orbs of faery purple
Do hold inside bounteous Sunlight!
O, berries wild,
Grown outside the garden's wall,
Freely given by generous Earth
Blessing us lovingly.
Accept our thanks, thou bounteous Nature!
We harvest our new season's joy!
The bitter and sweet are one,
And every season blesses us with gifts.
Every harvest holds the sun.
May you enjoy a splendid table, berry clothed!
Everyone in Ireland loved Bilberry Sunday,
A festival of food and love,
A time to pick' em with gloves!
May we rejoice in all that has ripened.
Natural Bilberries keep sweetness pure.
May you meet them on your walking path.
May we speak daily gratitude unto the skies.
May the harvest be safely stored.
Bless every Bilberry, small and precious,
Each a blue-purple canvas,
A brushstroke from the Cosmos,
And every Bilberry upon the tongue,
A memory of healing, sunlight, rain and Earth.
The seasons have kept their promises.
The wild has offered its bounty.
So raise we now this purple cup,
Pressed from Bilberries ripened,
Letting gratitude rise with its color.
For what we gather, let us share
As wild Earth yields her bounty forth,
May we return with thankfulness
And bounteous beauty of the Bilberry!
May wildlife thrive beneath the sky.
Rejoice as Bilberries ripen true,
Slowly nurtured by the sun!
Along a joyous path,
Express thy gratitude
For the bounteous beauty of the Bilberry,
A Cosmic symbol of giving thanks!
