In memory of Smudges 1998 - 2018

________________________________

The garden lush and fresh with flowers in every hue, oh, how you loved to play and rest yourself in shade; I buried you in your sweet cat place with flowers blue, how, I wept upon your repose until the stars did fade; and birds twittered at dawn- yet still, still I stayed. ________________________________ June 14, 2019 (Edit January 29, 2020) Poetry/Quintain/My Beauty in Repose Copyright Protected, ID 19 -1220-444-02 All Rights Reserved. Dear Heart, This is utterly moving and sp well penned. Sorry for your loss. Ihave lost 15 angel cats. Each loss was alaways difficult. I think I am part cat, Panagiotaxx

Panagiota, yes each cat soul is amazing. Smudges had been my mom's cat so now they both have passed, I have an emptiness, but I do have Snuggles Kitty and I love her _Constance

I can relate. I cried for a month when we lost Lily. I used to call her name like she was still here hoping her little ghost would appear to be near us. I actually felt her jumping up on my bed like she always did. I love your passionate poem. xxoo

Connie, thanks for your compassion, I am still not over the death of Smudges, though I know she lived a good long life and was loved every single day of her 20 years, I just miss her sweet ways, she was the most serene and gentle soul, I do have Snuggles now and she is lovely too yet, I know one day in the future I will be shattered again _Constance
