My Adorable Kitten

My adorable new little kitten
is a tiny puffball of white fluff
with a pink tongue that feels rough
Oh precious kitten, I’m totally smitten!

Kitty laps up a bowl of creamy milk
then settles snugly on my warm lap
Her blue eyes close; she takes a nap
as I stroke her fur, it’s as soft as silk

I’ve decided to name her Snowflake
as I got her as an early Christmas gift
Recently widowed; I felt I needed a lift
she’ll help me cope with my heartbreak
