My adorable new little kitten is a tiny puffball of white fluff with a pink tongue that feels rough Oh precious kitten, I’m totally smitten! Kitty laps up a bowl of creamy milk then settles snugly on my warm lap Her blue eyes close; she takes a nap as I stroke her fur, it’s as soft as silk I’ve decided to name her Snowflake as I got her as an early Christmas gift Recently widowed; I felt I needed a lift she’ll help me cope with my heartbreak Writing Challenge 2, August 2019 - Enclosed Rhyme - Poetry Contest Sponsored by Dear Heart 8/14/19

I love cats and I love cat poems, Jan! I have a dear old ginger (as you Brits call a yellowish cat) named Jeff and he is a wonderful companion. Great write & I'm glad it is fiction as far as the widow line implies. Good luck in the contest - I think you have a top winner. Glad you got a giggle from the Parson Ezra Heap write. Take good care - Bob

If this was any cuter I would come and steal this kitten off you, and your muse for a day or two. Uh-oh. Here comes Trixie holding a scythe. Got to go....

This is so sweet Jan. I once had a white long haired cat named snowball. Someone stole her away. Sometimes I would see her in my neighborhood so at least I knew she was being cared for. I loved your poem. I am sure to see this gem on the winner's list! : ) xxoo
