Muse Song

I feel a million years old
I have been longing for eternity
Cold and hollow
Lost and delicate
I feel like a force
Just a soul with emotions
Floating around
Filling the atmosphere
But, no one can see.
My mind is a peaceful rage
kicking and screaming as it transcends
Knowledge pressing hard on my temples
A migraine of awareness
Buzzes around me
Louder and louder
I'm screaming through my teeth
MAKE IT STOP!

Though, I need it
I need it to remind me I'm alive
I refuse to be another calcified soul
So, I will suffer
Suffering is better than feeling nothing at all
I will find my passion, my muse
And I will set the world ablaze with it.

You go, girl, get that Muse up and running, kick the tyres and light the fires. Great poem, welcome to Poetry Soup, Elle. I hope you enjoy your time with us. Viv x

I love this little gem. Very positive. Muses can be a little ornery at times. I'm certain, this has awaken yours, Elle. Really enjoyed the read.
