Muscle-Man Male Call

Hey there, Muscle Men, please come my way
I’m moving out on Labor Day
Packing’s made me a muscle lady
Biceps are growing on this baby

Incredible Hulks are welcome here
Superman seems to have disappeared
Consider the workout you’ll receive
A hopeful woman wants to believe

That those who can lift barbells so high
Could stack and haul, making this move fly
Speed like The Flash is what I need most
Flex muscles, don’t just stand there and boast

Batman, the cave needs to be cleared out
So bring your friends; give Robin a shout
Trapped in time, Achilles defends Troy
I pray the Lord sends a modern boy

Who wants to help a gal in distress?
The Holy Spirit brings my request
My aching bones would welcome a hand
From one who fancies himself a he-man

All you need to do is ask. Heck just the other day I asked a complete stranger for help. He was young and tall and was happy to oblige...walked away with a smile on his face. So nice to read this humorous poem Carolyn. Congratulations on having g it featured! : )

LOL - hilarious! I could visualise you picking up some vain gym bodies, taking them back to your place and asking them to lift packing crates! I seem to have bulging muscles in my abs : )

Good one, Carolyn. It's sad how they just want to grunt in the gym but not really USE the muscles for working for others! I hope they flew to your rescue. It's nice to find a fun poem like this way back in your pages. Thanks so much for my win in your mantis contest. LUv,Andrea

Reminds me of the song,'It's raining men'. Nice reminder that poems can be funny as well as brilliant! David

LOL clever write here, Carolyn. I love your sense of history and the myths that haunt it and how you're able to work those into your writing!! Great stuff.

I highly enjoyed the description of the muscle bound men! This was very entertaining and the way you can talk about it you sound like someone that's related to me! Very funny!

What an imaginative write. Your creativity can not be hidden away. Unfortunately my he-man days of yester years is why I'm visiting the therapist in the present. I guess the last line fits me also fancies myself a he-man is about as far as it goes currently.

hope you found your muscle men Carolyn, or just call the movers like I did;) and I'm a pretty well built guy too. Oh sure I can do the heavy lifting but screw it, I'll skip the back injuries and dislocated disks some of these poor guys eventually have to deal with. Miss you around here, place just doesn't feel the same without your charm:) -Yoni
