Mr William Landgrebe

An old friend came to town today, and we took a walk down memory lane. We reminisced about the olden days, about how much the times had changed. How much we’ve grown since long ago, how time slipped in the blink of an eye. We can never get it back it seems, no matter how hard we want to try. We talked about where we are now, and whatever happened to so and so. As the minutes drifted into hours, until it was time for him to go. Then we laughed and hugged, and even shed a few tears. Remembering the way it was, back in those glory years. Let’s get together again we said, though we knew it would never be. Sadly, we both began to realize, that our golden years are just memories.

Hello Jerry, Jerry, Ohh it carries the bittersweet weight of time, wrapping nostalgia and heartache into a tender embrace. I really believe you’ve captured the essence of friendship, loss, and the fleeting nature of our golden moments beautifully. What a heartfelt reflection. Winter Blessings, My Friend, Danie

Powerful poem. The last stanza points out how what we say and what actually happens never jibe.

Thank you, Oliver. True, we may start off with good intentions but somehow life seems to always get in the way.

Thanks, Jan. I need to change the "I'll do it tomorrow" attitude to "Do it now". In my mind it's only been a few weeks since I last posted and when I looked, it had been 5 months. The older I get, the faster times moves.

Thanks Sister Deb. The old noggin might be working a little more sluggish these days but I hope to get some of the fog worked out.
