Thanks for the feedback, Peter. May I recommend his shortest work, "The Caine Mutiny Court Martial," which is a ~ 150 page trial, excerpted from the end of the longer book and available as a stand-alone piece. It's gripping...Wouk won the Pulitzer Prize for this, by the way. :) gw

Yes, unafraid describes Wouk well. And I read today that he earned the Pulitzer prize for 'The Caine Mutiny' in 1952. A great one, was he. And greatness is always missed. :) gw

He was truly a literary giant of the twentieth century. Try 'The Caine Mutiny' on for size for a sample. (If that's too long, get your hands on 'The Caine Mutiny Court Martial,' which is much shorter, and is the climax of the whole thing). I think that you'll see what I mean...
