Mountain Cabin

Sun sets quick in fields now green Soon bronze shafts to be set free Cabin two hundred years old Falling down ghost memories untold Mountain top hide out Once proud view stout Miles away forests can be seen Here one blessed scene Crop of rock stand tall Nature away could fall My heart my soul Stories untold Home long ago Few only know

I spent six months in a log cabin in a meadow in Wyoming. The serenity was breathtaking. I was literally surrounded by wildlife of every description, deer, antelope, eagles, birds I could only identify by pictures in a bird book, rabbits galore, and a family of raccoons who ate the cat food I put out for the barn cat that lived in the horse corral hay barn. Beautiful, just as your poem described. Thanks for stirring bygone memories.
