Mount Rushmore's on my bucket list too! Have fun there. Great poem about your anticipation of seeing it. It's what I'm sure I will feel when I get to go.

As a Canadian this was a brief history lesson for me all bundled in your short poem. Thankyou for that. Enjoy your trip if you are on your way there,

O.K., Milt. Oh, Milt! MILT! You can come down now. It's the 18th already. Time to say goodbye to Teddy Bear! ... Hey, hope you're having a great trip and getting away from nuts like me for a few days. ~ Pina Colada

Milt, seems like you've done your homework and I know that you'll enjoy it as we did, don't forget the unfinished Crazy Horse Memorial a half-hour's drive away. IF, Devil's Tower, I think it a 2-hour drive -- we took the family car. Have FUN my friend, ALOHA!

great stature takes on a new meaning when you get to see it up close. I really like this one. I still have my old photo of when my family went there when I was only 14. I was standing in front of a railing (actually skinny) right before I started putting on weight!! I hope this monument will live on for centuries.

I'm sure I'll find it interesting. I studied about Gutzon Borglum in the fourth grade. The sculpture was only a few years old then.

Thank you so much, Caren. We'll be on our way in the morning. My brother Jim is on his way here from Panama City, FL. He's traveling in the remnants of Fred, I suspect.

I hope you get to do it real soon, Kim. I'm sure I'll be writing some poems about it when I get home.
