Pilgrims gather at base camp
kneel at her feet,
hypnotised in awe
of her beauty entranced,

strength, endurance
tells of victory or retreat,
visions of glory
triumphant peak dance,

outdoor expedition
deceased exposed,
mind-numbing desire
to reach suicide zone,

adjacent to trash
well preserved corpse disclosed,
gruesome mile markers
some identities unknown,

preserved in bleak time
human ice sculptures rest,
buddhist prayer flags
blow rainbows against stone ~

tranquil are the days
when winds blow southwest
standing in white riches,
yet never alone

Love this. says it all. The harsh reality, of trying to conquer against the almost impossible. well done. Enjoyed.
