Mothers
Seven years ago today,
it was my tenth birthday.
Chubby cheeks full of chocolate,
But happiness was not my fate.
I had to go to school that day,
No time for freedom or play.
I had no friends you see,
All the kids liked to bully me.
For it was my tenth birthday,
I wasn't going to let them get in my way.
Until a boy named john pushed me,
I fell on the pavement and scraped my knee.
I went home crying to my mother,
She said it couldn't go any further.
She comforted me with presents,
And unknowingly with her presence.
Way back when I was ten,
I didn't fit in.
I didn't have a single friend
But a mother is all you need in the end.
