Mother Sun

how beautiful the day
harmonizing tweets
bright and unbundled
the sun sips her coffee
smiling down…just you
wait…she says…i
have a treat today

Spring is on the way
she warms her child
rubbing gently her arms
kissing her forehead

her child holds out
her arms to the sides
and spins…the tears
of the sun gush

she dusts
off her child’s jacket
sunflower petals strewn
on the streets…
comely and calamitous

a trusting face uplifts…
the sun stares straight ahead
with potential energy and poise

she won’t disparage her child
telling her an unfair fairy tale

for

tomorrow’s not promised

A very mischievous and tender love between a mother and child ! You have given the mighty sun the loveliness and care of a mother and the spring .... the dependence of a child that is cossetted by the mother's affection! Enjoyed reading this, Kim

Wow, in light of present events, no, there is no guarantee of tomorrow; still we must also stress the possibility of hope. Well done.

I was delighted by your write, Kim. Funny, how we interpret things in different ways. I always imagine the sun as male and the moon as female, but the warmth of the sun would certainly be motherly.
