Mother Says

Mother says when he let me down,

I tore up the flowers from the neighbor’s garden.

I do not recall this, but his failing me

has left a lasting impression.

Emotionally hard hitting; children are effected by even the smallest things, let alone being left in the lurch. Congrats on another worthy win, Andrea.

With the exception of Ian's "Humpty Dumpty" every "Fallen" read has saddened me. We poets are an emotional, empathizing group of people (I could have said '..empathizing basket cases"). I felt you in this direct, straight forward write and I believed you - congratulations ... CayCay
