Mother Love

This story you may not believe, but I knew she was meant to be. In dreams she came, a form like an angel, in a rhapsody of pure unconditional love. Fathomless then and still to this day, I saw her reflected in the twinkle of my eye. I felt her tug gently at my heart strings. Her thoughts and mine seeming as one. Ever since I became that mother, loved beyond reason through my darkest years, guided by her calming spirit through my fears, I know I shall embrace the quietus of eternity fulfilled.

Hi Anna-Lise. I have three beautiful daughters as you know. If you knew how Rena made it here from where she was waiting...well...that's another poem entirely. Lovely to see you this evening and thank you.

Oh Bobby, I'm so pleased with this placement and thank you for it. Even the thought of my baby (now twenty two), creases my face into a smile. I must share this good news with her.

You are a wonderful mother Jean who has overcome many a storm to keep your babies dry and away from danger... Also you deliver lots of babies, so that makes you even more awesome.. Congratulation on your first place, we should all be there for one another, so we can all be strong..

this is so beautiful a child does pull at your heart strings.. I wrote about my son on my poem except it was the opposite because we had just gotten into a fight.. would you believe over a silly thing he is for our president and I am against.. he feels everyone is just trying to make our president look bad :(

I know it feels bad to argue with someone you love so much Eve. But being grown up for them means they must stand their ground, so I suppose we must accept their point of view. Even though Mothers are always right!

I got a glimpse of that special connection between mother and child from your poem...it's a part of you detached and alive...another you...Lovely dedication Jean...All the best

I don't follow Rena on twitter Arturo but my other two daughters tell me she has my wicked wit. Edna has my stubbornness and Cora has my "whatever" attitude. To see each spread their wings has enriched my own life so much. Thank you for your lovely comment.

A lovely sentiment, jean, that made good use of the required words, and a nice keepsake. I'd print it and frame it with a photo of your young 'un. Viv x

I'm obviously crazy mad nuts about her Viv. What I will do is use the greeting card maker to marry the poem to a recent picture of her and I together. I gather up a pile of them then turn them into a wee book. For Xmas, my sister in Australia received my first signed copy. Could be worth something someday.
