Mother Earth

Rest,
Holy mother earth,
Rest!

So much,
You have offered all of us, the
Whole summer,
Time has come, for you, to
Slow down!

A soft bed,
You should prepare for yoursef, made
From autumn’s golden leaves
For
The winter in complete relaxation to pass,
Slowly to recuperate

Repose,
Mother earth,
Repose!

Before

The reviving call of spring, wakes
You up

For

Another miraculous circle of life to
Begin!

I smile and giggle at this poem, Demetrios. The key word you use here that caught my eye was (should). As if any mother gets a chance to rest for more than a little while. She should, but she, like Mother Earth, is much too busy all year long. However, just maybe, winter can cover her with a warm blanket of snow and let her get a good night's sleep! I found humor in your poem, which you perhaps did not intend? Maybe because you're not a mother!
