Mother
You're never there for me,
Like you used to be.
You don't kiss away my boo boo’s,
Or hold me when i've had a nightmare.
Seems like just yesterday you were teaching me
How to tie up my shoes, and ride my bike.
Now its silence and awkward stares between us.
I thought we had a special connection,
I mean you did give birth to me.
Time is wasting away,
and you’re just sitting there.
One day, i hope you realize you made a mistake,
I tried so hard to be apart of you.
I guess, you just didn't want me anymore,
You have him now to love and care for you.
Just remember when he leaves you,
I won't be here anymore waiting for you,
Caring my heart on my sleeve.
I'm over trying to get your attention,
I moving onto my new life.
I hope we will reconnect one day,
Maybe you'll do better with your grandkids.
I know one thing,
i'll be a better mother than you.
I'll never leave my kids, or cast them aside for a man.
Ill nurture them as much as i can,
and make sure they know they're loved.
I want them to experience life,
The way i couldn't have.
I was too busy pleading for your affection,
To see that i really didn't need it.
Why try for something if it's not there?
Yeah, i had to learn the hard way,
But in the end it wasn't worth the tears i shed.
You weren't worth my time
