Mother
Perhaps the fear will pass,
they say time heals all wounds,
but wounds of the heart?
Assurance is not enough,
though some find happiness in delusion.
When reality brings the forgotten fear back,
and slaps you hard;
do you stay or leave?
Have not the cries and pleas of children,
penetrated your ears and touched your heart?
Are you so withdrawn and so accepting,
you can ignore,
only to live and love TERROR?
Do the important things enter your head,
only to disappear
as fear constricts the mind?
Can you escape?
Do you dare to risk such thought?
Or just avoid any possibility,
that you can make it safely,
And SURVIVE.
