Mortal Responsibility

Galileo saw his planets – 
but women were the first
to know of true miracle:
that new heartbeat; the 
motion of life within, before
without. Oh, science can, 
speaking of men, brute
strength define – and religion,
speaking of men, head of 
household enshrine: but 
God choose woman, to
conceive and bear – giving
man such mortal responsibility
was not something He 
would dare....
