Morning Sun - Anacreontic Contest
anacreontic verse
early morning
sun arising
bright red sky
welcoming dawn
where have you been
whilst I slept
whose bodies you heated
whilst i shivered
cold cold night.
so blue without you
I need you
my friends need you
yet you leave our side
leaving a cold moon
to lighten our way.
you burn the soil
of poor people
not kind
yet we welcome you
bright yellow sun ray
can you not choose
to stay
just a little longer
