Morning Prayer Sonnet

This written verse on page I start anew. An agony of pain will not abate. I will not throw myself from yonder porch, obedience to God, accepting fate. How can tomorrow vary from the rest? Another day to hope for all the best? Oh, Father many years your silence known, with not an answered prayer or favor shown. The very sun that shines, a daily curse upon denial, love a wish, put first. If living steps are ordered by your Word, release me from this loveless life absurd, and all my efforts to achieve the dream. Or grant desire by your great grace supreme. 8/3/2023
