More Than Child's Play
Eyes of envy
jealous of my life
blind to tears I hide
Eyes seeing happiness
as I cuddle with him
camouflaging pain within
Eyes reading words
that I've typed
How I wished them right
Eyes un-believing
this you can't be seeing
my wrists still bleeding
Sitting in black
silence at a funeral
everyone looking back
Hard for you to imagine
the smiles, joy, and laughter
was my faked ever-after
No one's to blame
pretending
isn't just a child's game.
