More Humour

Like many …Poetry Soup is my escape I am transferred to a magical place of words l leave my earthly woes at Soups door To read, learn and be heard As so many have mentioned before me Its a platform for all our poetic needs As long as we are respectable Our thoughts into words are freed I have always enjoyed Soups balance All topics and emotions openly penned From deep and meaningful to light and fluffy Always a varied ,even blend Lately Soups balance seems out of whack Humour and fun have declined Bring back the humour and banter please Let the balance be realigned

I think you're right... Though as the world bristles with war-induced tension, it can't help but affect all of us, no matter how many 'degrees' we seem to be separated from the troubling events. :) gw

Hey Deb fun poems are good but the humor must come naturally not forced, because then we can't laugh, except for a forced grin. Hey Jennifer…l agree one hundred percent….some can write humour but not all and l don't believe in forcing anything….l just feel P.S is a bit lacking in humour of late….its nice to have a balance. I will read that poem. Love hearing from you Jennifer….hope all is well! Thanks….Debx

Ditto that, Deb. Nothing wrong with a good chuckle… unless you’re sat by yourself on a crowded bus…. Then they look at you like you made a smell…. Not that I talk from experience though…. (Phew!)

I like how you open by opening your heart in this poem, and wanting more humor fits right in with that. I find the same problem with movies, and frequently have to go back in time to find the funny ones.

I cant agree with you more Deb homour is so lacking on soup and in our lives, i miss the banter from when I joined in 2014 it used to be so much fun:-( I am hoping now i am home again i will have time to write. But I am working on my humour book so watch this space lol:-) hugs jan xx

I always feel like since I don't read every single poem I miss the humor lol. Maybe you should sponsor a humorous contest and inspire change? I have been told in person I am funny. But that is on impulse. I don't know how to write like a comedian. Wish I could. I'd love to make people laugh. Great points made. Hugs love and light for your weekend Deb.

Hey Karen….I am afraid contests are not my thing! Not everyone writes, likes or reads humour but when l first joined P.S it had a more playful bantery(if thats a word?? Ha) vibe and it felt more balanced overall….l guess l just miss that! Thankyou so much sweet Karen for your comment! Debxx
