Is it possible that man has evolved too soon?
Men who never intend to go, send other men to the moon.

Wry and pointed. This couplet critiques ambition and detachment, where progress in exploration outpaces progress in empathy or unity. The rhyme is clean, and the message lands with quiet irony—evolution measured not by capability, but by conscience.

Thank you. I hope it's not too critical. I know that I won't be volunteering to leave earth. I guess I'm guilty too

I agree with CayCay, this makes me think. If someone was looking for volunteers to go to the moon, I'd take a step backward. I prefer to watch it from here on earth.

Yes, I would imagine a person would be volunteering if the liked the science so much. Intellectuals don't tend to go to the gym. Maybe physical fitness is important.

To go to the moon is a remarkable feat. But I always ask: what for? Meantime, wars, murders, and hunger rule the world.

We fear the unknown and we don't dare to take a risk. But we are happy and eager to see others exploring the unknown mysteries, so that we can know more about them.

Dear Hilda, I adore the thought-provoking spirit of your poem. A great title too. I like both my feet on the ground. I don’t particularly enjoy flying the friendly skies never mind the dark expanse of space. Your poem rings true though.. the brains send the brawn. Warmest wishes, my poet friend.. ~Susan

Indeed. Practice what one teaches. Never ask anyone to do, what one's own heart is not committed to do. Destiny is make by total submission.
