today is the birthday of my late best friend.. she and I loved celebrating birthdays, and lately I've been getting signs from her too in different forms..

this poem is for her. .. in remembrance...

grief, lives within always..

when skies bleed your sonnets~ every drop of garnet rain rhymes with ethereal initials of your s u n f l o w e r sonatas I remember when our eyes reflected like celestial f i r e f l i e s watching beach bonfires kiss the rouge sherbet clouds drifting through hues of lavender linings knitting a tapestry of tinker bell dreams I long to return and turn back t i m e to marigold monsoons painting horizons with star-kissed s u n s e t s in scarlet sage feathers whilst pixie-fairies swirl with us singing amidst childhood fears braving through weeping waves of w o e s crashing upon hidden traces in hourglass p e a r l s of fleeting t i m e soaked in seas of sizzling s t a r s as our tiny fingers craft crystalline castles with regal conch shells found along moon lily s h o r e l i n e s where tansy vines twinkle like twilight tears reflecting runes of rosemary ribbons scattered across raisin black spheres I wonder now do rivers in heaven flow with aurora calligraphies carrying your lyrical l a u g h t e r For I can feel your poetic glitter on my toffee-hued skin as I scribble our secrets in rose gold i n k with red diamond l e t t e r s on slipping pages of perfumed life Maybe I should r e s t my quill let thoughts walk through holographic hallways of yesterdays within my nocturnal mind allow nature to guide me back to the turquoise arms of tranquility t i m e can heal mourning hearts connected through mellifluous m e m o r i e s when storms slow dance to the symphony of g r i e f let wind take away p a i n and illuminate wilted flowers to thrive as souvenirs amidst the forest of n o s t a l g i a

Dearest Inky! This is so impressive - "wilted flowers to thrive as souvenirs," "storms slow dance," "holographic hallways." Read your response to Andrea and I am convinced you have the gift of a poet's heart and soul! I can't wait to see how your talent grows and evolves. The world is, indeed, hungry for the sweet sundae of your words. You have it all - metaphor, imagery, alliterations, cadence, creativity! I am indeed blessed to call you friend. Congratulations! Blessings!

This is very beautiful and quite the thoughtful tribute to your friend. Did she pass early in life? i guess I do not know your age, so I'm hoping she got to live a long time. I really liked the references to childhood with images such as tinker bell dreams

Dear Andrea she passed early in her twenties, she was almost twenty. Im in my thirties now. But isnt it strange no matter how long its been i always miss her somedays more than other days. We were both young. And i used tinker bell dreams because theres this song “ viva forever” by spice girls, was a song we used to sing together. I was listening to it while writing. Thank you so much

Ink Empress, your poem to your late best friend is such an enchanting journey through the realms of nostalgia and longing. The vivid imagery of celestial fireflies, scarlet sage feathers, and moon lily shorelines creates a dreamscape that tugs at the heartstrings. The delicate interplay of nature, emotion, and time are woven beautifully and eloquently. Your words have the power to transport the reader to a world painted in a wondrous land of poetry and emotion. A captivating and evocative piece to friendship! - Blessings, Daniel

Nice way of formatting this one... This is a beautiful tribute to your friend and it is nice to see someone shared your love for celebrating birthdays... when we lose someone so close to us we never really get over the pain, we just learn to live with it.. but we always feel the sadness when important dates like birthdays and their passing arrive.. this is shown in your poem through the way you have expressed grief and nostalgic memories in your words..

You are so right i should have written that instead, how wise and deep is the way you think? Time only veils the grief and trauma within, well said! I might use that another time! Im grateful for your support. Thank you so much always silent one for inspiring me!

I dont agree with this line,t i m e can heal mourning hearts connected through mellifluous m e m o r i e s.. as I think time only veils the pain.. like I said we learn to live with it... however there are many great descriptive verses in your poem.. Best of luck in the contest.

Ink Empress, despite the absolute impressiveness of your incredible imagery of castles and rivers and flowers, I am most taken with your line, "grief, lives within always" I just breaks my heart because it is so true! What a spectacular write! Happy Wednesday xxoo

This poem is an exquisite and heartfelt ode to your cherished friend, dear Ink. It is beyond dispute that the healing process must be permitted to progress organically; in doing so, one can't help but perpetually value the recollections of a cherished person. Memories resurface with a bittersweet quality, evoking instances of deep happiness. Your assertion that time can heal wounds by preserving memories is indeed accurate. Sincere condolences on the passing of your most trusted friend.

Gosh, this poem made me cry.. So emotive in its soul stirring essence, as you've described those shimmering days when your best friend, painted every day with magic.. When you both used to live life in a fairytale ambience, forever being by each other's side.. And how her presence in this 3-D world got erased..But, do know, that she is around you with her angelic aura and is so proud of the beautiful soul that you have..True, grief lives within us always and I can connect with this sense of pain

thank you for such a vivid poem filled with touching and poignant memories. Your poem grabbed my heart and soul, for I lost my younger brother on this day in January ten years ago. He was my best friend with whom we shared a love for creativity...his was music and mine was words. Your right, time can heal through memories captured and treasured. Sorry you lost your best friend...always an empty hole where she once was. Sending you hugs for the day, Sara

Dear sara, we share a date that somehow brings memories … and losing a brother must be so hard dear sara. Im so sorry for your loss: you are truly a very strong soul: maybe you should write a poem about him, i would like to see. You both seem like creative souls. I cant even imagine what you must be feeling right now: sending you light today and always
