Moment By Moment
We were caught up in the moment
A moment of challenge and battles,
toes were stepped on, hearts were bruised,
lines were crossed.
What came out of my mouth may not
have been true, but it was my truest understanding
at the moment. Can you ever forgive me
for leaving you
alone
in that room,
like an unwanted stepchild.
I regret that. The moment of challenge
was clearly understood,
but who you are became obscured
by clouds of blindness.
Clouds got in my eyes.
That day when the earth fell out
from under my feet, and my knees buckled
for the first time. It was a pain
that I never want you to endure.
They say Hell is the moment
when we experience the pain
that we have put others through.
I don't want you to know that pain.
What good would it do?
Would it make you love me more?
No, it would only show you the depth
of my pain. So you will have to believe it
on faith, but know you are forgiven.
Yes, I believe you meant no harm.
The moment turned angry, that's all.
Time passes, and the clouds are warmed,
dissapated by light. Warm loving light.
I know you meant no harm.
